In my talk, I will discuss asymptotic symmetries, known as BMS symmetry, in gravity and gauge theory. The BMS symmetry provides a symmetry principle related to memories, soft theorems in gravity and gauge theory. I will also address some issue how the BMS symmetry, gravitational memory and soft graviton theorem might be used to understand subtle problems in black hoe information puzzles.
